Harold Massey Bio

Versatile in all  forms of music from country to gospel, Harold Massey's roots are holding strong in his native North Carolina.  But from these roots have grown a career that has taken him across the country and back many times.

Best known for his work in Gospel Music, Harold is an accomplished musician and performer.  Harold has never forgotten where he developed his talents.  He started singing in church at age seven.

Over the years, Harold honed his talents and now when Harold Massey performs, audiences know immediately they will be superbly blessed, as well as entertained.

When Harold was in the second grade, he came home and told his mother that everyone at school was taking piano lessons. Harold's mother went straight out and bought a brand new piano for Harold to learn on.

Harold says that playing the piano is one of the greatest gifts he has.  "I am just in another world when I play". Although Harold sometimes uses tracks, or his very versatile band,  when he sings at a church or concert, he always sits down and plays the piano. A real crowd pleaser........

Harold  has had the privilege to sing in all parts of the country.  Although his roots are in Gospel Music, Country Music found a special place in his heart.  In 1994 Harold recorded an album in Nashville, TN.  The session included some of the top musicians and singers in the music business.  The session was recorded at Bradley's Barn, with Jim Case as producer and Bobby Bradley (nephew of the great Owen Bradley) as the engineer.  One of the highlights of the session was meeting Mr. Owen Bradley who produced The Wilburn Brothers, Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and many other greats.

Two of the songs recorded were written by Harold, "Constant Reminder" and "All That Really Matters"; both went to the Top 10 on the Independent Charts. This won Harold the Award for Album of The Year in 1996 from Airplay International.

Harold has performed with many of the Grand Ole Opry stars that include, Kitty Wells, Johnny and Bobby Wright, Little Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson,
and notable Gospel Artists, such as The Happy Goodman Family, Jerry Goff, The Speer Family, The McKameys, The Hemphills, and The Hoppers, to name just a few. Harold is not only a Gospel Music Artist, but promotes a dozen or more concerts per year featuring the very Top Gospel Artists.

His most recent single release, "I've Found A Better Way", written by Joel Hemphill, reached into the Top 40 in the Gospel Music News. His newest release, "Homecoming Time", is being promoted now, to Gospel Radio  by the Rick Hendrix Company, Nashville, TN. This song was written by Harold and is being received well by radio stations and Gospel Music fans all over the country.

Why not include Harold on your next concert, you'll be glad you did.
